Side fix Stair rod brackets are for use with carpet runner, where there is a gap between the edge of the runner and the edge of the stair. These brackets are screwed directly to the stair tread.
If you have fitted carpet, so from edge to edge of the entire stair then you have a choice of either Front-Fix stairrod brackets (The bracket clamps the rod and screws through the carpet into the stair tread) or Side-Fix stair rod brackets (The bracket clamps the rod and screws into the side of the staircase). This type of bracket is used for rods without finials.
Brackets can be supplied for use with your own rods and are available for rods with a diameter of either 10mm (3/8in), 12.5mm (1/2in), 16mm (5/8in) or 19mm (3/4in).
Triangular brackets are also available in either runner, front-fix or side-fix versions.
